Spooky Pets 015: A Little Sage
Hello Spooky friends! It’s hard to believe that we’re already writing our 15th feature. 2022 has flown by and this week enter the month of December and the heart of giving season. We hope everyone’s holiday is off to a good start and that the warmth of the season inspires us all to do a little more good for someone.
This week, we want to introduce you to Sage. Sage is an adorably scruffy, 7 month old puppy who was surrendered to NYC animal control along with his siblings, Roux and Wishbone. On intake, all three of the puppies were suffering from Parvovirus, and Sage seemed to have the worst of it. If you have ever had a puppy in your life, you know how deadly Parvo is. Little Sage was in grave danger, but luckily, he and his siblings were pulled from the shelter immediately by the team at Rescue City.
Rescue City is a foster-based and education-focused rescue in Brooklyn that pulls dogs from shelters across the nation and finds them homes in NY and surrounding states. As soon as they pulled Sage, he and his siblings were taken to an emergency vet for treatment. Sage required around-the-clock care, but after 10 days in hospital and $12,000 in bills, we are happy to report that he has been taken in by a foster!
Without Rescue City’s quick action, Sage, Wishbone and Roux wouldn’t be around for the holidays. We greatly appreciate the work that RC and rescues like them do day in and day out to save vulnerable animals and have donated $1000 towards Sage’s care.
We’re excited to continue following Sage and his littermates, and will certainly update the Spooky Pets community when they become available for adoption.
